At the Centre for G I Health we offer an non-surgical alternative weight loss program managed endoscopically called the Orbera® weight loss system. It involves the temporary placement for up to six (6) months into the stomach, via an endoscope, of a soft, silicone intragastric balloon.  The Orbera® system induces early and prolonged fullness with only a small portion control meal.  When used in conjunction with a long-term lifestyle program including a balanced, low-caloric diet and exercise, significant weight loss is routinely achieved - well in excess of that often documented with diet and exercise alone.
